Started in 1983 by Nick van Wyk as Cape Waste, the Wykco Group now consists of three national operating divisions – recycling, plastics, and transportation – each with its own companies, reach, and specialisations.

Together with his son Nico, Nick has grown Wykco into a formidable national company. The Wykco Group is currently one of the largest independent recycling operations in the country and boasts a strategic transportation and logistics division that is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with.

Since the industrial revolution, raw materials have been converted, consumed, and disposed of, with minimal environmental foresight or accountability. The companies within the Wykco Group are at the forefront of a new generation of smarter, greener businesses that are forging a cleaner, more efficient business model based on a broader, holistic assessment of production, distribution, consumption, and disposal.

Over the last three decades, the Wykco Group has grown to include a host of complimentary recycling, manufacturing, and logistics companies who are all committed to a cradle-to-grave view of natural resources. This life cycle perspective takes into account all the production inputs and consequences – including the crucial transportation elements required. The synergy created across the group adds to its efficiency, scope of operation, and ability to provide superlative service levels and cost-cutting initiatives for its valued clients.
